DJ Quik is a better and more versatile producer than Dre.

The issue is, he didn't play the game like Dre did.

Dre understood how to market himself and Quik did not.

A lot of success is about publicity.

Dre was a part of legendary Hip Hop acts. DJ Quik wasn't.
