Everything has to be balanced. You can text if you at work and can’t really talk. But you have to make time to talk to someone as well.

tried to talk to some young chicks online recently (past couple years) and shit is weird as fuck
half the convo is emojis and fuckin acronyms I've never heard of

That is the one thing I allow texts for. If I'm out getting shit from the store the wife can send me a text of some shit to grab. If it's a complete list then it's best to email it, but add-on shit send it in a text so I don't forget anything.
Outside of that, don't fuckin text me. My daughter needed me to pick her up from work, I told her to call me when she's ready to be picked up but instead she sent me a text to let me know she was ready. She sat there waiting for me and I was at the crib chillin. When she finally called the house about an hour and a half after she got off she was bent outta shape 'cause she missed some shit on TV and I said:
"Why didn't you call like I told you to?"
"I did! I sent you a text to tell you I was done"
"Since when is sending a text the same as calling someone?"
"... Well... I sent a text"
"and I told you to call and now you're still sitting there at work looking chumpish waiting for a ride. Next time do what I say and this won't happen"
