@Cain reminds me of most the Ques I've ever known, I could see you hopping around braking like a got damn dog
;;;;;:orly:
I didn't pledge a divine 9 in college because the one I wanted to pledge was on probation for hazing in fact most of the sorority at my school were on long probations for that mess. Any who my best friend from high school pledged the same one I wanted to in a grad chapter she said it wasn't anything like the horror stories from undergrads. She's been trying to get me to join her chapter for about 3 years now. I was going to back in the fall until we found out about baby du.
That particular chapter is what sororities and fraternities are supposed to be about. Community services, betterment and success of the black community and black excellence. I only know that because my friend is always inviting me to come to their events.
My take on the hazing stuff; there is the silly let's have a little fun but there's a point to it, thats fine. It did do a band sorority and like didn't said the worst that happened was walking me up in the middle of the night or messing up my clothes. Example one time they told up we were going out to dinner we all had to wear heels and meet them but a certain time, well they dropped us off at a bus station now far from school with an envelope and was like catch y'all on the flipside! we had to find our way around using clues with facts about school, band etc. They followed us in cars sometimes riding by us laughing and taunting occasionally they asked if we needed water but that's it. At the time I was like wtf but when I look back it was funny and it made us work as a team to get to the end. (They did still but us dinner too). I can say the university would have considered that as hazing but it was not painful in anyway (well my feet were on fire lol) but built a bond with a group of very different women I would have never took time to get to know NOW I call them my sister's and even though we are all across the US I know I can count on them for anything.
The bone breaking, hospital visit, humiliating hazing is unnecessary and I would not subject myself to that CUZ it means nothing to the purpose of what sororities and fraternities were went for. It makes me sad when I hear stories like that. I just know and have made it clear to all those chicks I'm not the one for that kind if stuff. I'd be the one to snatch the paddle and go off on everyone asking them "you like that shit"... my friend laughs every time I tell her that. We shall see.
