It's the original looter game, Destiny, The Division, Squares Avengers all got their style from Diablo franchise. Was also the father of the isometric style X-COM/Midnight sons use. If you don't like item/gear farming I wouldnt try this game. It attracts a certain player type. Every time a diablo game is released it always breaks a sales record. D3 sold 30 million copies.
D4 is the first version to be a live service mmo-lite. They went back to their gothic horror roots from D1 and D2 and combines it with the combat of D3. D3 was the first to not be horror. Both Trailers set the mood.
