I honestly can see this being a real plot cause they are gonna start introducing the new X-Men little by little over the next few movies / events within the Multiverse Saga. Theres word going around that they've already casted Jean Grey and shes young. So this rumor about Storm would fall right in line with that...

Hope not. Storm's parents didn't really play a role in her life. They died when she was mad young. Now if they made Denzel one of her early teachers that taught her to survive and be a thief, i could roll with that.
