That's another thing that's needs to stop. No it wasn't.

Other than 50, Kanye dropped his first album when Bow Wow & Nelly was still hot and all that snap/ringtone rap started coming on.

Shit now that I think about even the singles that pushed 50's album wasn't some "gagster/thug rap"

And yes, G Unit, Dipset (along with other ROC artists) were super hot during them times, then with crunk music coming in taking over the game.

Kanye took what others were already doing but made it super cool. Never said he was the first nor only. But he took it to levels that NO OTHER ARTIST took it to. And that's just the truth. Prove me wrong.

Yeah I remember hearing All Falls Down for the first time and thinking, 'I've never heard a rap song like this before'. Kanye's style was closer to Black Thought, Common, Mos Def and Talib Kweli and less like Jay, 50, Dipset, and Ja Rule.
