CYOL 2019: Hustletown Vs Sion

I thought the judging was based on Critical Acclaim, Album Sales, Longevity, Album Covers and Track listing, and label cohesion. Did the criteria change @Chi-town B ?

I still wrote it up the way we used to do it, I'll go back and drop it in yalls thread. The one I dropped was just way shorter and right to the point

Future Sales - Giving this one to Sion. Em, Jay & Kendrick are gonna be the artist who net him the most sales. Hustle has Beyonce leading in sales for him but I don't see any other artist outside of her being able to pull off any real big numbers to match them in this category. Bruno maybe? but idk

Critical Acclaim - @Sion takes this one as well and its pretty much a no brainer if you look at the rosters. Jay, Em, Kendrick, Nas..

Cohesion - Sion. I knew he was winning this category whenever ya'll were still in the drafting stages & i'm pretty sure I said back then that yall niggas were crazy for letting him lock down all those artist without putting up a fight. In the same breath @Hustletown put together a great roster too. I swear I've seen him draft a similiar line up in the past but I could be wrong. The reason I'm going with Sion is because he actually managed to sign artist who have proven that they work well together and he didn't just focus on signing up a bunch of individual artist. If you look at his shit he has every member of Black Hippy, the Fugees, Westside Gunn AND Conway. With cohesion like this he could of easily made a sub label if he wanted to.

Album Covers - In case yall didnt notice this is my favorite category to grade and I can be a lot more critical & nitpicky here than anywhere else cause I myself am a graphics designer. With that being said I gotta say I was expecting more from Sion cover wise cause hes always come w/ it in this category in the past. Idk what happened here though. Seems like he didn't put much focus on his covers this time around or maybe hes holding out on dropping the heat in the first (which is something I pointed out as a bad move in the other thread.) I feel like you should never sleep on your opponent b/c you dont know what they coming with. I've watched Hustles covers improve over the years & hes come a long way. I fuck w/ the Beyonce Cover, the 21 Savage Joint & the Gibbs one (Even though the font here is trash). I wasn't feeling the Harry Fraud art at all tho. If we were to base this solely off of covers alone I feel like Hustle would take it but since tracklisting is also taken into consideration im going w/ Sion. I looked over the projects that both labels submitted and I went with what I felt I could see happening and what I would be most excited to hear. On top of that I feel like the Harry Fraud EP does Hustle no favors at all. I just can't hear Beyonce on a track w/ Rae Sremmurd bruh, I'm sorry.. I would of probably of went with another project here entirely. I mean you had Meek, Nicki, KRIT, Bruno & Rae Sremmurd.. a project from any of those would of been better than a HF EP.

Overall - Sion

Thanks fam !!!

@TonyDubbz I have 16 covers made I wanted to keep it a surprise because they said the finals would be a triple threat match. I was way too cautious in which ones I chose. Particularly because I didn't want to give too much away for players like @Ibex to build off of. It was a big gamble but I assure you in the finals I'm going to drop some craaaaazy heat !!!!

I figured thats what you were doing just won't used to seeing you go that route.

Finals should be dope
