OUT NOW Crimson Desert

Added to Calendar: 03-19-26

The only game that comes to mind with this is Days Gone

It starts out rough and you run out gas quick in the beginning, but once you get to the 2nd camp and some upgrades that game is fuego
That makes sense since I tried days gone and I stopped after an hour

Man this shit just arbitrarily uncompleted several missions I already finished and got me doing them again. No crash…no reload…nothing….just happened to notice progress gone from map and missions that I did earlier today showing as incomplete. WTF!!!
Man you sure you ain't just a tourists suffering from brain-rot due to modern games using yellow paint and holding your hand? Maybe you did not complete the missions the correct way in the greatest game ever created that is supposed to have so much freedom and exploration.

Sorry to hear that man, that sucks, but these defenders of this game keep posting crap about people having brain-rot from games that have yellow paint to indicate what you can climb on. That is a huge waste of time and how many hours did it take you to get that far? You going to keep playing?

Nah they clearly indicate when a mission has been completed and the game autosaves pretty frequently. I always keep a rotation of manual saves when playing. My autosaves were hosed, but I had a manual save I was able to revert back to so didn't really lose much in terms of time......just more annoyed and caught off guard by it than anything.

I'm going to keep playing though for the time being. I actually like games that don't hand hold and force you to actually be skilled/think, but I'm an old school gamer so I'm used to that as the norm. That's actually what's keeping me engaged despite all of the technical problems and questionable mechanics.

How is the new control scheme?

How is the new control scheme?

I personally haven't noticed any difference. They don't let you change the controls so you're stuck w/ the defaults. Base/standard combat controls are your typical R1/R2 (weak/strong) with a long list of other button combinations for other stuff. I still don't like having to press x multiple times to trigger running. Jumping can feel sticky sometimes and blocking isn't as responsive as I would like it compared to something like Sekiro. Controls in general can feel weird and overcomplicated at times. Now that they fixed storage, controls are really my main personal gripe.

Hate to say it but a lot of these game releases require several early patches.. it’s just par for the course… but hopefully its getting better within a time.. yeah it sucks when there’s issues especially at release price point.

Good. That would suck if you lost your progress

I’m about 30 minutes, I don’t know what the fuck is going on. I thought I was just awful, I googled some shit. There’s already YouTube videos explaining what your supposed to do and how you do basic game mechanics

This game is like a fever dream while on COVID. But I like a challenge, so..

Like, the randomness of it, why the fuck did he go in the sewer, there wasn’t any reason to. And some random poor person has clothes good enough to get in the castle?

I’d call these spoilers, but if you play this game, you won’t even know what the fuck I’m talking about at first. Then ur gonna be like

This game is comically ridiculous

Aight man, these muthafuckas gave me wings, threw me off the ledge, didn’t even bother to tell me how they work, then tells me that the fucking wings stop working when you deplete stamina, while I’m still miles above the surface
:hahaha:

The creators of this game are absolutely diabolical

Think of it this way

If a nigga randomly gave you wings (pause) and threw you off a ledge, you think a fuckin tutorial would pop out of the sky like “look nigga, if you want to elevate, hold r2 and if you wanna go faster, press x”

Be for real. You’d have to rely on instincts and figuring out how it work and the limitations of it on the fly. Niggas done got too used to these games holding their hand and babying them thru. It’s ok to fail and figure shit out….if you got time.

Overall, crimson desert sounds like the type of game I want to play but don’t have the time to invest in all of its systems/mechanics and world

Pretty much. I seem to remember that scene not being too bad. You’re falling long enough to figure out which button to press. The game is definitely time consuming due to the size of the map and there shear amount of stuff you can do. I still haven’t ventured past the first region & still haven’t opened up that up fully yet.

It ain’t that all that much. The game will come to a dead stop to explain something to you that was rather obvious, and then tell you to do something that it never explained you could do, or how to do.

Then, the other thing is the story. You can’t get into it cause it makes no sense, the missions are both random and somehow connected. The story you play doesn’t have any connection to how it started.

For all intensive purposes, the game would have been 100 percent better if they let you create a player, drop you from the sky, and told you to figure everything out.

Cause at least it would make sense and your character would feel personal. Like, Imagine there was a game that they made about Ruff Ryder Records, but you are force to be Drag-on.

This game don't seem to be fun at all.
It can be, it has the most potential a game can have. There’s a ton of content, a ton of interactive things, a lot of depth in its systems, its huge. It just does all that it does good, very poorly. I hope their devs are dedicated to fixing a lot of this stuff.

One really simply thing is that the interaction button is also the jump button. So you get a prompt to hit x to pick something up or interact with somerhing. And your character jumps, cause even though it told you to hit x, you have to get a lil closer first

It feels like this

There’s a lot here, there’s just a lot to fix

I havent bought this yet, but I still plan to eventually. I figured there would be some negativity when it was released which is unfortunate, but I do like that they are listening to the feedback and making patches quickly.

Would be cool if in the near future they have some kind of online co op as it was originally gonna be an MMO.

It definitely feels like that’s what it was supposed to be. Like a dragons dogma made by rock star games.
