OUT NOW Crimson Desert

Added to Calendar: 03-19-26

Its funny how there is a whole defense force for this game LOL. Clearly there are issues with the game and them saying they are going to fix the controls tells you that. The internet hyped this game and are now mad that reviews are not higher (even though it has a good metacritic score and the user score is almost equal) and crashing out.

The reason this game looks like a mixer of many games is because the devs admitted that management kept telling to add things that were popular on other games. This was also supposed to be an MMO which explains the lack of mains story. This is why I had it on wait and see because trailers are supposed to look good. In essence the game has no real direction or structure.

I thought the combat was at least going to deliver, but from the people playing I seen and commentary the combat falls short. Not saying this is a bad game, but its not really an RPG and most are saying its a waste of time as the content is not interesting and neither is the story. There are also poorly designed mechanics.

I watched a guy struggle for damn near an hour on t hat arm wrestling quest LOL. So I will pass, not what I was expecting it to be. Riding a dragon and wolf are cool features, but not enough for me to sink hours into a game that is a HUGE nothing burger of time sink and you can not even skip the cut-scenes

Holdup! I just learned that you have to go through several steps to talk to a merchant (look directly at them, then hold down X). What? ROFL!

A number of reviews I came across referred to this as the "best worst game they've played" and that's not far from the truth. The vision is there, but the execution is poor af in a lot of areas. They over-complicate a lot of things that should be simple mechanics. Hopefully future patches will fix a lot of the issues people are complaining about. They do seem to be acknowledging and working on those items so we'll see how that goes. It got "Cyberpunk level" buggy for me over the weekend. Had a situation where the game crashed on me 4 times in a row every time I reloaded the game and opened the map. A few quests almost glitched on me preventing me from completing them. Thankfully I keep multiple saves so I was able to revert back and try different approaches to eventually complete the quests. Had a scenario where my stamina bar glitched and I essentially had unlimited stamina. Encountered another situation where I was doing the bare hand duel fight and none of my hits were damaging my opponent (restarting the game fixed that). The shooting competitions feel broke whereas your opponent is literally knocking down the targets as soon as they pop up not giving you any time to even aim at them. I've definitely experienced a lot of buggy shit already and I've barely scratched the surface of the map which is scary. Plus the investory/storage limitations are brutal. Looks like they're fixing that in the next patch if not out already.

EDIT:
new patch supposedly adds storage support and fixes a number of gripes

I'll have to check out the updates later, but sounds like some good stuff in the latest patch
