With that being said people have to stop calling police for mental health episodes. I don't know who to call though.

The drawback is mental health professionals are not trained to deal with someone coming at them with a deadly weapon

Unfortunate situation, but there wasn't much else the police officer could do. IMO there should have been a mental health crisis worker with the police officer as back up. Just seeing a cop may have been what sent her over the edge...
