Conor McGregor Arrested For Strong Armed Robbery

Mixed Martial Arts star fighter Conor McGregor was arrested Monday evening after police said he smashed a fan’s phone outside the Fontainebleau Miami Beach hotel.

McGregor, 30, was charged with felony strong-armed robbery and misdemeanor criminal mischief, according to Miami Beach police.

According to an arrest report, McGregor and the fan were walking out of the resort, home to the legendary LIV nightclub, just past 5 a.m. When the fan tried taking a photo with his cell, McGregor “slapped” the phone out of his hand, then stomped on it several times, the report said.

McGregor picked up the phone, valued at $1,000, and walked away with it, police said.

The incident was captured on surveillance video. McGregor was not arrested at the scene, but detectives spent the day investigating and later found him at a Miami Beach home on North Venetian Drive.

McGregor, a former two-division UFC champion who famously fought and lost to boxing legend Floyd Mayweather in August 2017, was booked into a Miami-Dade jail on Monday night.

The colorful Irish fighter has been in South Florida on vacation as he prepares for his UFC comeback. A few days ago, he shared Instagram photos of a night out at the Versace Mansion on South Beach, where he celebrated his mother’s 60th birthday.

McGregor was arrested nearly one year ago in New York City after police said he attacked a charter bus carrying several UFC fighters, throwing a dolly through the window. The attack happened after a media day for UFC 223.

He was initially charged with two felonies, but ended up pleading guilty to a disorderly conduct charge. His sentence: three days of anger management courses, and five days of community service.

He'd have been good had he not taken the phone after breaking it. Well he wouldn't have caught the robbery charge.

McGregor hit with lawsuit over cellphone incident

MIAMI -- Mixed martial artist and boxer Conor McGregor is facing a civil lawsuit after being charged in South Florida with stealing the cellphone of someone who was trying to take his photo.

Miami-Dade County court records show that 22-year-old Ahmed Abdirzak filed a lawsuit seeking more than $15,000 on Thursday, accusing 30-year-old McGregor of battery, assault and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Miami Beach police say McGregor was leaving the Fontainebleau Miami Beach early Monday morning when Abdirzak attempted to take a picture of McGregor. Police say McGregor slapped the phone out of Abdirzak's hand and then stomped on it several times. Investigators say McGregor then grabbed the phone and left the area. McGregor was later arrested on robbery and criminal mischief charges.

McGregor's criminal defense attorney called the lawsuit "a quick effort seeking a payday.''

emotional distress.

shit... that’s a pay day.

“your honor, I thought it would be ok to take a quick picture but he became very aggressive.. have you seen how he becomes when he’s that angry? he’s attacked people on a bus and after his most recent fight, he was in a brawl in the middle of the mma ring. Your honor, I feared that would happen to me.”

We heard this story before with other famous people. Someone violates with their phone out to get a reaction, then cry foul when they get the reaction they were looking for. Him and his people should know better. You'd think he'd go to a quieter spot in florida to have a vaca when ur that famous.
But he was also in Ft. Lauderdale at some bar, bought like 100 shots for people then was in then back cooking himself a steak n shit. He doesnt seem bothered.
