Classic Cinema Thread 1920’s-1970’s

RazorRaheem

I’m boss up Here!
Didn’t see a Classic Cinema thread and thought what’s a film room without the classics. Post some of your favorite older films and talk a bit about them and perhaps their cultural impact. I will start with Akira Kurosawa’s 1957 Japanese rendition of the classic stage play Macbeth titled “ Throne of Blood” E0B2F8FE-8473-49E0-A78D-50705E6D4DFA.jpeg A great film that deals with one realizing their potential even if it means backstabbing others to get to the top. It features Toshiro Mifune a common collaborator with Japanese Director Kurosawa who also worked together in the classic 1950 film, “ Rashomon”. Throne of Blood is a great film and I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in Japanese Classic Cinema.

This is what Marty was talking about! Marvel threads full busting out, but discussions on real cinema empty!! Disappointed in ya”lol!!!

a few to check out:

Ralph Bakshi's "Heavy Traffic" (1973)

Fantastic Planet (1973)

Stanley Kubrick's "A Clockwork Orange" (1975)

These three are some of the standout flicks I saw as a kid in the 80's thanks to HBO, Cinemax, and Spotlight.
