MTV would have the labels rent houses for them to front in. I remember one guitarist actually said "yeah, I didn't run out and rent a house for the show, this is where I actually live". Modest house in Cali and he drove a Camry.

A lot of those homes aren't really that extravagant.


They'll post the specs before the tour, and a lot of those homes are less than 3,000 sq ft.

Even seen some less than 2,500 sq ft.


Back in the day they wouldn't show anything less than a mansion.
