U know what's funny about this? A lot of posters on here admit the Dem party sucks yet say "well it's all we got"

Why won't they vote 3rd party?
Bruh you admit both sides do everything in their power to squash a 3rd party candidate before they even hit the national stage.

The 3rd party candidates that do get out are wildly unpopular.

So that leaves 2 sides and one is going to win.

Tell me again, given the reality of the system, how voting for a 3rd party candidate right now changes things?

Like for real, give me a high level plan for how this happens without a monumental movement led by a charismatic 3rd party politician. Cause simply “vote 3rd party” ain’t doing it.

I agree with all this, which is why non voters don't vote 3rd party either and makes it a ridiculous critique.

But one side is going to win. So non-voting is the same as voting 3rd party.

The only time 3rd party voting has any impact is if someone votes for the 3rd party candidate that takes away votes from the side it will hurt.

This is illogical. If a non vote is a vote for 3rd party then 3rd party would win elections. A non vote is a vote for nobody.

Yes, and it is this way by design.

Nah I was saying they’re the same because neither has any impact on the outcome of one of two candidates winning.
U were asking me how voting for a 3rd party candidate changes things. Given the way the system is set up it doesn't, by design.

I'm making the point that this is one of the reasons ppl would rather sit out and why criticizing non voters for not voting 3rd party is a ridiculous critique that doesn't make the slightest attempt at thinking beyond very very surface level.

I never criticized non-voters for not voting 3rd party. I criticize non-voters for not voting for a side that has the capability to win. I put 3rd party voters and non-voters in the same category, but 3rd party voters a little above non-voters because at least they’re participating in the political process.

I think you’ve been misinterpreting my posts, but hopefully this clears it up.

We're going in circles again.

A non voter is not voting bc they don't like either of the two options that have a capability to win.

And by acknowledging a 3rd party is basically a wasted vote, u indirectly acknowledge it's pointless for them to vote, while telling them that at least going out and wasting their vote on a 3rd party candidate its better than not voting, even tho u acknowledge it's the same category leading to the same outcome.

And what's more ironic, is you're telling me they're making it so my 3rd party vote is useless on purpose, so that I'm forced to pick a side that I don't want to, then frowning down upon me when I don't.
