He was trying to do something that many others were/are doing but much better than him. Trying to be cool, fly and lyrical. Drake, Big Sean, J Cole, etc were doing that but better.

His introduction musically was through reality show. We saw his infancy stages even if he got better that would’ve been ingrained in some folks memory. Plus he never got good
