Can Somebody Give Me An Intelligent Explanation Of Why The Patriots Cut Tom Brady?

So why didn't they offer him a bag full of cash to extend his contract?

Oh, lemme guess they thought Cam Newton was better?

Seriously, he won the Super Bowl 2 years prior and made it to the playoffs last year.

He was showing heavy signs of being washed so they only offered a 1 yr deal

He wanted multiple years

Based on how he looked at the time I understand their thinking

No one expected Cam to win games, especially the Pats

He’s a temporary stopgap

TB is the almost chip on the shoulder player imo.

Mfer been playing with a chip on his shoulder his whole career, so when the patriots didnt wanna give him a contract longer than a year that was just another chip on his shoulder. So he left and wanted to prove everyone wrong again.

Its funny cause great players do this. Find ways to motivate themselves and basically live believing they was underdogs and counted out the whole time when they werent.

And then when they retire, its hard to change that mentality

TB roster >>>> NE roster

and Brady knew that. The decision was easy AF, plus he didnt have deal with Bill B bs no mo

Bill had built an amazing system around Tom tbh. The blame goes on the management for not putting enough talent around TB12 last year to influence him to stay. Winning is the most important thing to Brady and New England failed to accompany him with winning talent.

Isnt Bill basically the gm tho.

Like his friendship with saban is why they tend to draft so many bama guys.

Yeah, but they do have other people who are involved with decisions of the team's future. Bill definitely handles players and some financial decisions but not everything. Drafting for New England has been very bad the past few seasons as well. Idk if they have an all pro or pro bowl draft pick in the last 3-4 years.

I heard journalist from that area break it down that Craft, while he loved Brady like a son, he had to chose Bellichik(?) because of the institution Bellichik put in place; scouting, analyst, ecconomic efficiency etc.

Cam, of course, is/was a very economic bridge QB. With the opt outs and co-vid, 2020 was what it was. As businesses do, Pats are playing the long game.
