Netflix Black Mirror (Season 7)

Added to Calendar: 04-10-25

I'm not clicking the spoiler cuz I'm watching that episode, and it's fucking dope to me... I'm also buzzed as shit

They stepped it up this season. There really wasn’t an episode that I just didn’t fuck with like in last seasons.

Common People was a smart take on all of these subscription services. A cautionary tale on how broadly subscription services are being applied.

Bete Noir is basically how deeply imbedded teenage trauma can be. An Omega level genius can’t event get over it.

Hotel Reverie, probably the worst of the season for me, but still good. The clash of Issa Rae just being herself and the old style film actress just didn’t do it for me. Aquafina was actually ok in this though. Just an interesting tale, nothing more.

Plaything was intriguing to me. I was wondering what the end game would be and it didn’t disappoint. Wish they would have given a few minutes about what the world looked like after the takeover. Good commentary about human’s violent nature.

Eulogy was very heartfelt and Paul Giamatti acted his ass off! Talk about regret. Imagine you lost the love of your life and 40 years later and after their death you find out you actually could have salvaged that love. Tech was a facilitator here, not the focus. This was one of the best episodes.

USS Calister was most entertaining but way too long. Since this was an expansion of a prior episode’s concepts there was nothing about it that grabbed me. The ending was weird with all of them occupying ol’ girl’s mind. Probably second worse behind Hotel Reverie.

It was cool to see Issa doing Issa in a totally different aesthetic than what we normally see her in. I definitely thought she was gonna be stuck in there once the machine got fucked up. Aquafina was relatively okay here; her part suited her well. The older woman in charge of the studio was funny as hell.

My only issue with Plaything like folks have said was wishing we got to see the aftermath of the takeover. Fuckin Lump man what a goof.

That shit was funny and realistic he would start immediately killing and torturing the Throng, lol. Exactly what people did when they first picked up GTA back in the day.

Crocodile and Metalhead (though I liked the black and white look of the episode) didn't do anything for me in Season 4. The amount of references to previous episodes inside of the crime museum in 'Black Museum' is crazy. As soon as he started choking, I knew she had to be the convict's daughter. Her and her mother been planning for that payback

I liked USS Callister, Arkangel and Hang the DJ too

Love the social commentary that most episodes bring

Lol damn she didn't like one of the few episodes with a "happy ending".

Tough to pinpoint the GOAT episode. I've really liked a bunch so far through 4 seasons. I saw San Junipero was a bit divisive in here and I liked that one too

USS Callister Into Infinity

It was interesting but I don't think a sequel should have been made since it's supposed to be an anthology series

Black Mirror seems to like the devices that just stick on your face near your eye lol multiple episodes have that

The end was odd. That was supposed to be the "save all" option? Seems kind of sick and twisted

The actor has lost a lot of weight. Seems like every movie/show I see him in he's getting skinnier

The floppy disk brought back memories lol

I think overall it was a good series

I kind of like Love Death Robots and now Secret Level more than Black Mirror though

The actor losing weight was probably the result of everybody calling him Fatt Damon when he first hit the scene.
