It's a fact that he tried to get Def Comedy Jam off the air. It's a fact that he openly hated on and told other comedians to change their styles to appeal more to white people. It's a fact he fired Lisa Bonet because she got pregnant meanwhile he fucking multiple women and hiding a child. These fucked up things he did aren't opinion. They actually happened.
Nobody is saying the message he was trying to put out didn't matter...but the man's entire bread and butter was based on this perceived moral compass he operated with when that was a flat out lie. So when that image is what he made his career out of people are entitled to hold him to the standards he set for himself and hold him accountable when he falls short of them. You can't duck accountability for being fucked up because "well everyone fucks up". As much as you hate that let them cook mentality that's exactly what you're advocating for
