I'd have to look at them side by side to give a definitive answer but off the top of my head I'd say yes.

Surprised @5 Grand hasn't dropped his 79-88 list yet

Some dope stuff came out in the 80s, especially 84 & 88.

But the QUANTITY of Hip Hop that came out in the 90s made me choose 88-97.

There weren't that many albums before 1988. Mostly singles with an a side and a b side.
