When it comes to KOTD and URL:
URL finally did what KOTD was doing plus even more.
They made the ultimate chess move and took off leaving KOTD in the dust. Taking the same production, teaming up with certain emcees notably from KOTD, and going international while maintaining their raw/street feel and presence.
KOTD went from GrindTime rip off, to the far better version now to damn near GrindTime status.
KOTD were supposed to take off on some next level shit with Drake supposedly 'executive producing' one of the events back in the day. The one with Hitman vs Shotty. But it seems after that event, or after Drake stopped shouting them out they went downhill from there.
I remember certain URL emcees used to praise on how professional and forward-thinking KOTD were in comparison to URL back in the day, so let's see how this pan out.
