TBH youre right, rappers used to compete against eachother each year or summer for sales etc

Now rappers just drop whenever they want, sometimes 3 or 4 times a year and sales are pretty much irrelevant...

There’s no competition ability wise either so I mean you can make whatever top 10 list you really want as a publication and it not really matter

Its just way easier to leave “list” to just general discussion and barbershop talk lol. Once you put a stamp on it with a name as if its official, all hell will break loose and feelings will get caught lol.

But be honest, how much rap/new rap music did you check for in 2023? You can’t expect artists to want to compete when fans stop giving a shit about competitive music.

The competitive rap died once sounding the same became ok and then the norm.

hell, new artist get shunned here daily unless its about a death or something messy.
