I also have not even listened to Doe or Die 2. I loved the first one, but just never got around to giving the sequel a try. Didnt have high expectations for it. Not because AZ isnt capable of making good music, but hes not at all the same AZ that he was when he made the first one. I think to live up to that album he would need a familiar hunger and not just incorporate mafia samples into different tracks.
there was so much excellent hiphop during this time frame and the genre was so diverse and moving so quick ...it says a lot that Do or Die stood out the way it did..
