I was more so saying if you're buying alot of hollow points or higher grain ammo in large quantities that COULD be kinda strange. Like @Dwayne stated and many shooters (yourself included if you shoot) can attest to it's super easy to go through ammo at the range. but most folks who regularly shoot aren't going to waste certain types of ammunition at the range.
Some stuff is better for hunting or longer range shooting and may cost a little more so you would use it just for that specific purpose and not to waste at the range. Also if the person is buying a ton of additional items that seem to be going to multiple weapons that could maybe, be a sign.
