Second, this was cheeks. Not all of it but overall, I wouldn't watch again. I thought the alphas being smart was kinda dumb. I get it adds another layer to what we've traditionally thought of zombies but still, it just didn't work for me.
Had some nice one liners though, special effects were cool

Enjoyed it. Would watch it again. Like the touch with the alpha zombies made it more interesting And who the fuck complains about the writing in a zombie movie? It's a zombie movie...
When the movie actually tries to make the writing the central focus, that's when.
The zombies are always the star to the movie, whatever bs the protagonists are going through is always a distant second and usually just filler anyway

I really do not know how the movie "tried" to make writing the focus...it was pretty cut and dry what they were to do n the purpose of the movie was...the dialogue at no point tried to fool the audience into anything.
ALL protagonist have a backup story..this ain't a porn. Somethings do need to be coherent. They spent maybe 15 mins of what the main character lost. And didn't drown us with the issue with his daughter..that pacing was fine...

Plus niggas were aggravated at the daughter's character. Guess what? Thats good writing if you had a feeling about any of characters.

so the presumed friction b/t bautista and his kid was that she felt some way he had to kill her mom. So they establish they have a strained relationship b/c of this only to reveal that the real reason was b/c he left or some bullshit.
then you have the implied relationship b/t bautista and ol girl. So when did that happen? After everything went to shit?
Take a movie like Dawn of the dead, one of my FAV zombie movies. Synder would've tried to make the focus on the pregnant lady be about why they decide to have a child or some shit. She is just there to die. Maybe tug on ya heart strings b/c her baby bout to be zombie food, but there is NO reason to explore her pregnancy other than the fact that she is pregnant in the middle of a zombie apocalypse.
They tried to make Bautista multilayered and they really didnt have to.

Bruh bautistas daughter was lame as fuck this hoe risked everybody's life for a bitch that still dies in the end, her plot armour was crazy, and they say Shaft never misses a shot, smh, Ghost, Ghost, Ghost, you mean to tell me all that time you spent in that vault you didn't know you was bit by a zombie? Really! Negus! I'm done it was entertaining but glad I didn't go to the theater for this one.
