It’s not an oxymoron...it’s a critique. America talks about freedom, equality, and justice, but its history shows it hasn’t lived up to that. Pointing that out isn't ‘"anti-American"’

That just deflection. The question isn’t about me personally, it’s about whether the country has lived up to what it claims. And historically, that’s debatable at best.

It doesn't seem like a critique to me. I asked because you kind of come off that way. Those other countries aren't better off. That's why they keep coming over here for better opportunities and warning Americans of previous regimes that some blindly support. Yes, America is the Greatest. No matter what its been through. It's the most influential country ever. It's lived up and stood the test of time.

What makes America the greatest?
 
As someone that was born in UK and is now a US citizen, I claim my Jamaican heritage more than any thing else.

It’s a shame that black Africans and Caribbeans come to America and don’t want to give Foundational Black Americans any credit for having a culture that is separate from theirs.

Let any non FBA black American win an award or get any shine, the first thing they are going to claim is Nigeria, Haiti, Jamaica…

Other countries not being better off doesn't mean America has lived up to what it purports itself to be. Because by its own metrics it's is actively failing in real time. And yes...there are people here are who are oppressed.

There is a discussion to be had that even when your country does some clearly wild shit to start a conflict, would you want them to lose knowing what losing a war usually means?

Iraq War?

All considered losses

Iran?
