No....and I'm a combat veteran who has actually fired bullets back at an "enemy" on behalf of America SMH

at most I just care about my hometown/where my family lives, I don't really gaf about this country other than making sure my VA check arrives on time




however I do use the patriotic schtick to navigate thru places that may not otherwise be favorable to Black people

it's always funny seeing redneck racist white folks change their whole demeanor up when they realize the Black dude they are talking to served in the army

especially when they didn't and have all the cowardly excuses why they managed to not sign up themselves 😏

When 9/11 happened I was patriotic for like a week then my emotions turned off and brain kicked back on and realized we was lied to about that whole attack. Besides that I root for the US in the Olympics and got love for the soldiers that's about it.

The US is like that one ex you don't want to be around but you have to because you all know the same people and some fuck with her and a lot don't so you have to deal with them every day.

Oh I definitely throw my “I served for six years in the United States Air Force…” bonifides in these Lannisters faces when I wanna get my “fuck America!” shit off. Especially when they try me with that “you didn’t vote, so what right do have to complain?!”

Actually these days I assume they believe they are native to America.

Also, that they hate Africans and the rest of the diaspora equally or more than anyone else in the country.

not to cause controversy but do u also thank cops, firefighters, and EMS for their service the same way?

people in the military are no better than other folks who serve in uniform everyday to provide u local emergency services

I understand what you're getting at, but I see it a little bit different. they all deserve (even police LMAO) respect, but a good portion of military personnel aren't going to work in their back yard (or hometown) or be with their family damn near every night unlike those other professions. Not to mention the individuals who have to serve abroad in the military.

I like your point of view though and I respect it.
 
I am patriotic in the sense that I believe in the values and principles that I was taught in DoD schools.
These same values and principles significantly overlapped with the indoctrination I received in the service.

That being said, the typical version of Patriotism is wildly insulting to me.
