Are You Participating In Today's National Blackout?

What im realizing is that those posters most likely weren't going to participate regardless of how the plan was laid.

Same as the "don't vote" crowd. Niggas just want to justify themselves not giving a shit about anything and most likely weren't going to vote anyway.

What's funny tho, is I didn't spend shit today. Not that I don't need shit, 'cause we do, but I got tied up with more pressing matters with work so I fucked around and forgot. Truthfully, aside from one bill, the Arby's I copped for us on Monday, and the few essentials I grabbed on Wednesday 'cause we were completely out, I haven't spent money like that all week.

Say less.

My thing is your whole point was that we have to start somewhere and if a person can’t last one day or even start how can they have a whole month boycott. Like you said even if the plan was to boycott a year it would just be excuses

And yes it’s harder to not buy essentials like eggs and meat over buying a PlayStation or headphones. To go completely eggless is crazy and we not raising chickens

Like I said earlier in this thread, 1 carton of eggs bought since November. Last time around I didn't buy eggs for almost 6 months. You can't do that???

Another thing: The messaging to shop local, Black, or whatever should have been much clearer. Had that been heavily emphasized, you wouldn't have seen people spending with corporate America to compensate for today, they would have started checking out local spots and bought from them if they needed to shore up their supplies which could also mean becoming regular customers of those places. I've pretty much stopped buying meats from Walmart and Kroger 'cause we got a local market around the way with meats and fresh produce way cheaper. They stick you up on packaged goods tho, so there's a tradeoff, and for me that just means grocery shopping is two stops instead of just one.

I typed a lotta long winded responses..... But a lot of it was unnecessary....

I don't really care that much. But I will say this....

If you are the type of corporate consumer that you strongly feel you will be hurting these companies by boycotting... By all means... Boycott. And stick to it.

Just dial back on the preaching. Cuz it's a lotta people who live like this on the normal. And to be honest, a lotta y'all dialed in cuz it's a tiktok trend.

And that's cool... Make your impact felt.

But yeah, y'all organized efforts... Is my norm.... So excuse me if I crack jokes

Need to target one big store and not shop there for a whole quarter. These companies are required to report their financials to the SEC quarterly and investors are making investing decisions on those financials.

It would be very embarrassing to have to explain to investors they didn’t do well because people are protesting them pulling DEI initiatives.
