It's certainly debatable.
 
I voted no but The Score is arguably a top 10 album.

If you include The Carnival and Miseducation it's a maybe.
 
They may only have 2 albums but their impact is prolly more felt then 90% of hip hop groups with long discographies, they literally changed the game/genre and bought millions of none hip hop fans into the genre with one album... They also launched successful solo careers too, especially Clef and Lauryn...
 
The Score also introduced Akon to the world too for the first time if Im correct, so thats 4 successful solo careers off the back of the album...
 
How come Wu Tang solo albums count when discussing Wu Tang as a group, but Wyclef and Lauryn's albums don't count when discussing The Fugees?

Also, Biggie is on MT Rushmore off of two albums and some loosies.

I'm just playing devil's advocate but The Score, The Carnival and Miseducation could probably hang with any three albums from any other group.
 
I really hate how overrated The Score is.


I'm down to list 50 albums and @5 Grand can pick any of the 50 albums. Then we can make a thread comparing song vs song ( track 1 vs track 1, etc). And i bet The Score won't be better.
 
That should be a series actually. Lets match the classic albums up and face em off song for song.
 
We already got 5 voted in and we still haven't got to wu, kast , tribe etc. I prolly won't make a thread for those 3 until it's time to see what groups needs to be kicked out the 5.

Any other groups yall want me to get to?

For example

IWW>> vol 1

etc, but with songs. And then tally em up.

It's always gonna be subjective but nothing's wrong with alil debating.

I've never met anybody that didn't like The Score and it sold 6X platinum. There's not too many albums that are appreciated by REAL Hip Hop fans that sold that many records.

They outsold 2Pac in 1996. But after he died people bought AEOM posthumously

And I don’t dislike The Score, it’s just severely overrated
 
It doesn't have anything to do with your challenge, but you're gonna name a bunch of albums that went gold and platinum. The Score is one of the greatest selling Rap albums of all time... So is Miseducation.

Straw man argument. You know that's not what I said.

Real Hip Hop fans liked The Score and it sold 6X platinum.

MC Hammer sold 10X platinum but we didn't consider him a real rapper.
