Any Tradesmen Here? I'm Tryna See Sumn...

$17-20 sheesh I would have to cut 98% of my hoes off. LMAO

My office is actually out of gboro but I work remotely from Charlotte. The pay is great but this travel a bitch I cover all of NC,SC and GA. I stay on the road man

I feel that man. That would be too much of a paycut for you .

The cool thing with IT is most companies allow you to work remotely.

My office is out of Winston but in the summer time im almost never in Winston. I usually work out of hotel rooms in different cities in the summer. I was at VA beach working the last 2 weeks and bout to hit ny/nj in a few.

Ima stop stuntin though.

I work in the OSP (outside plant) of telecon and I'm trying to go to ISP(inside plant aka IT) side of things. A nigga got a computer science degree, engineering degree and electronics degree's but always been in telecon/telephone business because of working with Bellsouth/AT&T for years.

My homie just grabbed a full-time gig with Microsoft in Charlotte as a cloud engineer paying 125k with no degree's at all just CCNP cert. I'm like yeah nigga I do aight with but yeah IT makes more and I need that lol

Bruh you should skip SQA all together and look to learn a language. Start with python, and then learn java and get a software engineering job.

Or go with what your boy does and get into something with databases. Take a few SQL courses, learn some python scripting and get a job manipulating databases.

Also, small world fam. I got offered and almost took a job at microsoft in charlotte a few months back. Only reason I didnt is because I didnt wanna make that move to Charlotte out of being lazy. Im at myself for not taking it though cause Winston is type trash and I really like Charlotte.

I’m also learning python and maybe sqa along with getting a+ certified. That software development things looks very interesting

Winston is trash and behind on growth far as cities go. Downtown trying to do something but the city is grimey looking. I used to come here all the time on some wreck less shit back in my no good days and loved the city but now nah b. I'm in and out.

The city trying to grow I know because of the field I'm in but it's going to take another 10yrs for any real growth hit the city.

I'm exploring options for a career change....Looking at electrician but am open to anything. Any information, experiences, etc are welcome and appreciated.
Working in construction is tough work. So bring a extra pair of underwear cause you will be sweating your ass off.

Are you interested in IT at all?

You should look up manual software testing or SQA.

Easiest job ever, you dont need to know any languages, and can start at 60-70k and work your way up to a 100k.

Its how I got my start in IT. Let me know if its something that interests you and I can share more detail.

Is IT more about certification or college degree

My brother is an electrician. He makes good money, not including all the side jobs he does.

It can be taxing work though. Digging trenches, pulling wire, in hot ass attics all day. But if you like working with your hands and not mind working in a male dominated work force I would do it.

If I had to do it all over again I would have skipped college and got a trade.

I don't fuck with manual labor like that so I would be of no help here.

Theres welding, plumbing, fabricators, HVAC, sanitation. If youre not familiar with basic hand tools neither of these trades will work out for you

True but ain’t nothing to it but to learn. I want to be able to rig my own shit up

Ehhh I been working in a musty ass warehouse for the last 5 yrs.

Not that the work is comparable but I'm used to the environment and being around dirty niggas all day lol
