Baby Showers have meatballs of some sort and cupcakes. At a BBQ, that chicken is grilled.

Plus, my dad has been a pastor for 25 years, and I grew up in the church. Iā€™m pretty sure Iā€™ve had this very dinner 200 times in my childhood.
 
I did not know Africans and other non black Americans made this dish?

I thought it was Black Americans who made these things at these functions. This is Black American culture, Africans, whites, etc not making these dishes at these functions.
 
A, B, and D is possible but that slice of ham is throwing me off.
Fried Chicken seems strange for a BBQ when there's a whole grill going.
Come to think of it, we don't fry chicken like that at cookouts.
It's usually boiled meat or bbq.
 
I'm always amazed at how consistent the black American experience is. Obviously we aren't a monolith. But y'all niggas know what I'm talking bout.
Black culture had a gang of commonalities.

I'm Muslim and never went to Church like that,but I've had that same plate minus the ham at every repass I've ever been to.
