I think you're missing the point that overall... This is what they're supposed to do with this particular show... The roll out for the rock star was always supposed to be bigger than the first part.. Them treating this like this is on brand with the overall narrative.

Lestat is supposed to be larger than life. The only way to sell this is for the first two seasons to build a sold fan base. You can't start off like this. It had to be a build up to this moment.

Plus if you don't remember there was a HUGE push back because they actually race swapped Louis and Claudia... If they pushed the marketing this hard for the first two seasons, they might forced their hand.

To be completely honest, they still might've been a little too bold with this roll out, I just fucks with it cuz I'm a huge fan.

Wasn't expecting Baby Jenks. Definitely wasn't expecting them to change her story

Honestly was hoping they'd start from the beginning. Episode 1 kind of jumped back and forth a bunch of times

I guess one nitpick I have is how they introduced Gabrielle. I guess it's more because I was hoping they'd start from the beginning. I don't hate the timeline structure though

This strategy by AMC will 100% work.... Cuz here's why.

It was a 9 year gap. The lady came from money. She only wrote interview cuz she lost her daughter. She really didn't have to be a writer... But after years of people loving interview... She turned it up with TVL...she got the witch books going, she connected them, she world built. But she didn't start world building until TVL. That was the definitive starting point of her immortal universe. And because we are now here. Yes. You are supposed to celebrate it... Because you want new fans to tune in.

And when they go back to catch up. They are treated TO ONE OF THE BEST TV SHOWS OF ALL TIME.

The people who binge interview to get caught up for The Vampire Lestat are going to be so treated.

It's prolly way more... But some of my favorite shows ever, I found out about late cuz their marketing grew in later seasons... Then when I binged.. It was great TV, and I was hooked.

This is a lotta people right now. They're coming in at the absolute best time.

Enjoyable 1st episode

Lestat's narrating is hilarious. Watching him crash out over the book was too much. This dude was so high he was watching shit around him distorted. The last 10-15 min were incredibly chaotic
 
Armand and Louis both fucked up at the auction. One missing a leg, the other missing an eye lol damn.

Lestat was with the shits in that hallways fight. I'm glad Sam and Daniel came to help.... But I feel like he only needed it cuz he was high as shit
