Sometimes being the hero means saving the villain.
I think you're missing the point that overall... This is what they're supposed to do with this particular show... The roll out for the rock star was always supposed to be bigger than the first part.. Them treating this like this is on brand with the overall narrative.I think you missed the point of people bringing up the marketing. Was the show marketed with the same energy when Louie (a black man) was the main lead? We're not talking about the character being boring in the book or w/e. Did the marketing match with what we're seeing for Season 3? Let's not pretend like AMC was spending like they've clearly have leading into this upcoming aeason
Lestat is supposed to be larger than life. The only way to sell this is for the first two seasons to build a sold fan base. You can't start off like this. It had to be a build up to this moment.
Plus if you don't remember there was a HUGE push back because they actually race swapped Louis and Claudia... If they pushed the marketing this hard for the first two seasons, they might forced their hand.
To be completely honest, they still might've been a little too bold with this roll out, I just fucks with it cuz I'm a huge fan.
