You are supposed to care about the kid but 10/15 minutes in, you could care less about him. And by the end of the movie you still feel the same way.

The movie was definitely slow but it was short enough that it wasnt really an issue.

Yeah it was pretty slow and there wasn't really much closure to the overall story. Lil dude and his sisters boyfriend share a moment after the robbery and then the closing shot is lil man lookin outside from the door like "Yeah... to hell with taking the trash out today... them bees still out there"
