The pro's for capital punishment far outweigh the cons. The death penalty is reserved for the most heinous acts of our civilized society. When that sentence comes down more often than not the convicted person deserves it. How many times have we as a society have gotten upset because a piece of trash who have killed children and defenseless women didn't get this sentence but are laying up in a prison on our dime. The death penalty cost less than it would keeping these animals alive paying for their food, living conditions and health care. These people get health care when law abiding citizens can't afford it, how messed up is that.

Another reason the death penalty is needed is because a just society requires retribution for a taken of a life. Retribution has its basis in religious values, which have historically maintained that it is proper to take an "eye for an eye" and a life for a life. Although the victim's love ones can't have their family member restored to them the execution will bring them some form of closure rather than the convicted still being around and can still have contacts with their family and friends. Under the most cruel and heinous crimes the perpetrator deserves under our law. Anything other than that would undermine the value society places on protecting lives. For all you christian and god people out there the death penalty is the equivalent of an eye for an eye so how can you be opposed to capital punishment

Advocates against capital punishment always come up with that crap about pain and suffering, fuck that bullshit. Did those convicted give a damn about their victims pain and suffering before they met their demise. Why should society care about a murderer's pain, I sure as hell don't and neither should you.

Me personally I've never been in a situation where I wanted a death penalty conviction but as a human being I understand wanting to see the person die. There is no difference of having the government kill and having street justice, it's both the same and I have no issue with either one.
