I called my dad yesterday to see how he was doing with his chemo. He told me that his brother, my uncle called him a couple of days ago to check up on him. A little back story about my uncle. He is the baby of the family. He has been in and out of jail and was hooked on crack and heroine. He has cleaned himself up pretty good. What he told my dad kinda of shocked me, but at the same time it was coming from someone talking to his big brother. He told my dad "please stop smoking". In the past couple of years, they have loss 3 brothers and one sister that has dementia. He is all he has left, so it kinda of broke me to hear him say that.

The same. After my dad passed my Uncle Anthony is the only man from that generation. Lost two uncles last year one to cancer one to a some freak accident. But my dad despite his stuff was a lil more healthier because he my mom looking out they say men live longer when married. But he also was more active aint drink as much.

But on a lighter note my uncle got 10 kids all my uncles had kids and grandkids and we can’t live forever. So while my family lost a lot relatively short time to me it ain’t stopping nothing.

My dad is 75 and for most of his life, he has been healthy. The problem is that he still smoke and drink, even after the doctor has told him to stop. During our talk yesterday after he told me what my uncle said, my dad said if it's his time to go, it's his time to go. As a son or daughter, you understand that he is correct and you have to prepare for that time to come. But at the same time, it's something you are not ready to hear.

My grandmother is 92. The doctor told her she needs to stop drinking sodas. Last time I was down there I joked with her about it and she was like "You don't tell me what to drink. I'm the grandmother." It cracked me up.

My mom and my aunts get mad about it. I'm like ya'll think she gonna live forever? If drinking soda is going to make these last years better, let her have it. At that point what you really planning for. She's 92.

I swear this nigga I live next door to, loves to make noise. Every fucking day this nigga outside making noise. Some lawn equipment, his motorcycles, fixing his car, loud as radio, him singing, a loud ass generator for god knows what. Everyday this nigga outside making noise.

Although taking care of your health is vital at certain points you gotta realize being anxious over it solves nothing. We all gonna die one day. Gotta just enjoy life

I can’t fully agree with this

If niggas is 60 and up and drinking soda or smoking they don’t have self control and aren’t willing to try and will fall back on “we all gotta go sometime” to make up for them not trying.

Fuckin drink sparkling water and stop smoking cigarettes you been around long enough lol you enjoyed that shit for 40-50 years

Nah I’m not saying not caring about health is a good idea

I’m saying don’t be obsessed with health thinking you’ll live forever….I used to be a full time personal trainer

Some people are obsessed with their health thinking an ice cream cone will kill them

For me, it's not about trying to live forever or super long but being in good condition when im older. I want to be one of those old heads that dont need a wheel chair to get around. There are like 70yr olds that still play basketball.
