Depending on what the content is...so you already got the purchase in and don't need to find it during release. Also some things have extras for preordering (like games)Funny to see people pre order digital content, just to be unhappy with the product when it’s released and claim they got scammed into buying it. Like they’re gonna run out of digital content, da fuck are you pre ordering for?
Corporations don’t care, most put more money into their advertising department than any other department in their organization.Depending on what the content is...so you already got the purchase in and don't need to find it during release. Also some things have extras for preordering (like games)
On the topic of games it's my belief that the game should be ready at launch and if not then don't release a bugged version. I'm not big on betas because you can run into bugs

That’s an absolute fact, it’s about selling the product, not if the product does what they say it’s supposed to do. And nowadays if the product does happen to do what they say it’s supposed to do. They’ll find some way to bleed money from you via some sort of subscription, because the product is so good. That you’d be willing to rest on one interaction with the company.
These are staples of business and business in America. Nearly every company operates this way. For the life of me I don’t get how people know this and still walk into situations that leave them unfulfilled with a product or in difficult to get out of subscription that they seem surprised to be in.
There almost no company left in America that does honest business. And with the wealth of reviewers available, it just makes sense to wait and see what you’d be getting and then decide from there. At this point it doesn’t make any sense to fall for advertising anymore.
Games don’t even release gameplay first, most of their first trailers are mini movies that don’t display any in game footage. Member world of Warcraft? They used to release trailers that looked like fantasy movies, and the game has the graphics of a Nintendo 64 game.
I used to laugh at people getting excited at a WOW trailer, like bro, none of that is even in the game
