I think I would rather accurately see the past than accurately see the future.

I wish I could go back in the past with the knowledge I have now, and be in the room, the area, the location and watch shit happen as it happened. So I have a better understanding of what happened and not the self bias viewpoints that shaped my thoughts and beliefs.

I think it would actually be cool to know what exactly happened. There’s so much shit that I thought I remembered perfectly till I learned about personal bias. And i now I know that shit most definitely didn’t happen as I remember, but it’s all I remember.
So future man no longer wants to see the future huh…

The future ain't looking too good for men, which probably won't be too good for society as a whole. It doesn't seem like anyone wants to do anything about it though.

The only thing men can do is continue to keep being, and exemplifying real manhood and pass it down…those who listen will rightly follow

No this is different. The problem is in trying to push women up in society, which was the right thing to do, we kinda ignored the affects it had on men and after decades of promoting those changes we've now swung the disparity for success farther in favor of women than it was in favor of men 50 years ago. Exemplifying manhood doesn't mean anything when we're basically setting little boys up for failure at an early age.

Interesting I see you post this right as I also saw this

Yeah, I'm not as concerned about the goofiness that's going on between men and women now. I think it's more problematic that basic institutions like the educational system are basically adversarial towards boys, and no one is really making any move to improve the situation.

what yall be watching that this type of stuff even shows up in your algorithms?

I watch TED Talks pretty regularly. I think this video stemmed from a talk I watched recently. Either that or something I watched about black poverty as the guy in the video points out that the problems affecting boys hurts black boys the most.

I've mentioned before that alot of what we are seeing now and have seen in terms of social changes are an overcorrection for things that have been ignored in society for far too long. An unintended consequence of that correction has been the neglect of boys, especially young Black boys, on certain levels. It's a legit concern, but how the concern is addressed is also important and some of the ass backwards ways it's been suggested to address this issue are mind boggling.

I disagree with this wholeheartedly. But it is what it is

What exactly do you disagree with? How exactly is raising your son to exemplify manhood going to help him thrive if schools, as they are now run, are fundamentally incompatible with boys?

I'm not really sure what suggestions you're seeing, but this guy and others are suggesting things like investing in getting more male teachers in school, balancing grading standards to be more fair to different ways of learning, putting more investment back into vocational and trade schools, and helping men get into industries where they are highly underrepresented. Those are all reasonable suggestions.

That wasn't specific to the video you posted. What you're suggesting isn't unreasonable at all. I've seen some dumb ass suggestions though that would ultimately do more harm to both boys/men and girls/women and alot of it is centered around reverting to the way things were previously instead of building on progress that's been made and expanding that to include more for young boys.

It’s simple….a child bears fruit to who nurtured them

A young male who has strong, fatherly, masculine guidance as a child won’t just forget those principles as he matures….specifically if he chooses to listen and follow

Societal norms are not an excuse…..that forges a victim-based mindset and THAT I will say is MORE of a problem than anything else

I grew up in schools that taught that humans came from monkeys and shit….now they are pushing atheism and other anti-God beliefs. That didn’t change who I was because I had a family that raised me differently…society is never an excuse

That’s my final word on that matter

Ok, gotcha. Yeah, suggesting we go back to how things were is stupid. That would be like suggesting that the way to solve black on black crime is to put black people back in slavery because that wasn't an issue back then. lol

I think dude's point about the HEAL vs STEM fields was interesting. Basically we put a much of resources into getting women better represented in the STEM fields, which were male dominated and ignored the HEAL fields which were already female dominated. Now we've basically closed the gap with the STEM fields but the HEAL fields are even more female dominated because nothing was ever done to help close that gap.
