One of the most evident Knicks fan characteristics, not only on here, but also in the various NYK communities (except the sidetalk frauds) is that we know our team, we are privy to their strengths, fully aware of their deficiencies and are typically harder on them than outsiders are. So when you have other fanbases parroting weak nonsensical takes from outsiders in media that clearly don’t watch the games we’re quick to call it out.
The same way entering this series NYK fans were giving Philly all the credit in the world for the potentially tough matchup they’d give while Philly fans were were talking about the Knicks like they were road kill. Shit we were more worried about Philly than Boston.
So Philly arrogance made zero sense because you already lost to a lesser Knicks team with a healthier Embid two years ago and overall Embiid has been 5-8 against Knicks Brunson. He’s now 5-10. The 76ers as an organization are now 6-13 against Knicks Brunson. Philly had zero business being overly confident.
