2026 NBA Offseason Thread

Almost 7 feet tall
36% from 3 on over 400 attempts with no point guard while playing very good defense

5 year extension at age 23 starts this season making

23
21
23
25
27

Meanwhile Christian Braun getting paid 25ms then next 5 years to shoot 30% from 3 and be mid on defense
I don’t wanna see you on the Braun bandwagon when we back up

I’m glad you have a #3 pick that’s actually decent though

Had a thought I was gonna share but

Its going to be hilarious if this Jalen Duren situation drags all the way out until training camp

What all this really comes down to is the Pistons are terrified of paying Ausar Thompson 35 mil per year(as they should be).....if Cade, Duren and Ausar are your big three you're done and might as well buy Cade a first class ticket out of Detroit now

People will disagree but they probably should’ve traded Ausar at the deadline or this summer

Serious question

What are your thoughts about max contracts getting given based on specialty?

Like we what what an ausar or Herb will get you defensively primarily and anything they give you offensively is a bonus but should their pay be based on their defensive abilities primarily?

Can't pay someone that kind of money who was regularly getting benched in the playoffs as a liability and wasn't getting guarded....like he wasnt just being left alone, they weren't even defending that side of the court

These defense only wings are probably the worst archetype for a young player to have to pay

Defense only wings my second most hated type player

Its sucks because a lot of those guys play so hard and they're very easy to root for and its not like they dont have value..
..but they can be a real burden when it comes to team building and your finances
