2026 NBA Offseason Thread

All true. I'm just speculating, but Harper ain't trying to come off the bench again. Also, I'm mostly thinking from an Owner's POV. Public discourse can divide a locker room. Spurs fans hate Fox and love Harper rn. Not the end of the world or uncommon. I just feel like a nice public relations run could do wonders for their offseason.

Harper should definitely be starting next season and if he's not by halfway through the season that going to be a real problem imo

Part of me kind of feels this isn’t going to end well the longer it goes on......these kind of situations rarely do especially considering how Fox acted with Haliburton

Spurs organization should hurry up and announce that Harper is starting and Fox is coming off the bench. It's best for business. lol
Can't do that. Just need to let the business play out and try and move fox before the season starts. Can't let it publicly divide the locker room. Harper has asserted himself as the future lead guard and everyone knows it.

But if fox is still there at the beginning of the season you have to start him until the situation becomes untenable. The biggest thing is minute management. Mitch Johnson has been horrible at it.

You could also possibly get away with starting all 3. It's not like castle and harper are small guards.🤷🏿‍♂️

I know he swinging air like why nobody love me, this also makes absolutely no sense wtf are they trying to get he fitted pretty perfectly with limited time, unles some dumb team is trying to get rid of lottery pick this is nonsense
He wants to get paid. And he was mid in the first round. Offered nothing that says "pay me the 30+ I want" Hawks trying to get low.

Didn't cost the Hawks anything to get him really so it's whatever. Dangle him and see if anyone bites.

Looks like Castle knows the situation and is trying to do something about it. Salaries are fucked up all around, so imo I wouldn't care that Fox is making that much coming off the bench. I, too, wouldn't mind a 3-guard lineup. I just know Harper has to start.

He's not coming off the bench lol. It just depreciates him more as an asset they're obviously trying to move off. Harper gonna have to wait a little longer (which isn't crazy hes going into year 2) or champagnie gonna have to hold the L.

he's already depreciated bcuz everyone knows he's out of there. But yeah, Champagnie gonna have to hold the L. lol

I would.

Would def be an upgrade over IQ.

When you look at contracts like fox the quickley and poetl contract situations are way fucking overblown.

Quickley was good for us this year and earned every penny he just had bad injury luck to finish the season.
We know cmb can step in and play the 5 against bigger opponents and dominate matchups.

It's an interesting buy low scenario but fox's path to redemption is grim. If they want to send multiple firsts and seconds plus kornet... I might. Otherwise fk that.
