The Sixers’ issue is so much money tied up with Embiid and PG

They have no issue with Maxey himself

The Mavs traded Luka because they were worried about his health/weight long term and him not being better than he was defensively which is also tied to health and weight to a degree

He then was traded for a guy who is notoriously never healthy, much older, and a young mid shooting guard

after being in the finals
