I guess Iā€™m just making a generalization based on arrogant players. A lot more black players in general are called arrogant and you donā€™t hear that term thrown around with white players as much. Itā€™s just impossible that there arenā€™t a lot of arrogant white players.

If I had to name a white player in the draft that might have been arrogant Iā€™d probably call out Johnny Manziel. He might not have been arrogant in interviews, but the way he approached everything from how seriously he took the college game to his social life was arrogant. And those were actions and not words. And he wasnā€™t the most skilled or polished either. And Cleveland still traded up to get him.

Weā€™ve heard the stories about Eli Manning too.

I think the bolded is where it becomes a problem. You gotta know when it's time to tone that shit down. I've seen him and Cam Ward talkin to each other during their workouts... I'm sure Cam can talk his shit with Shedeur line for line. But you can't go into a meeting with a team the same way acting the same way you act when you're talking to your friends at practice.

Dude's arrogance came off in a way that rubbed people the wrong way. Tomlin's a black head coach, in need of a QB, but didn't draft him either. So we calling Tomlin into question, or accepting there may have been some stuff on Shedeur's side causing this fall?

I see your point, but I maintain my view that his arrogance should have at most pushed him to the second round, maybe 3rd. 5th round is basically the NFL making a statement, and itā€™s a type of statement they only make against black players. Kap took a knee and was blackballed but you got white dudes doing much worse and itā€™s overlooked.

Agree to agree on some points, disagree on others.

I guess his slide is based on where you (the team) have him starting. I did start to get the vibe that teams didn't grade him that high. What you think about Tomlin not taking him? Black coach, non-white GM, in need of a QB.


I could be looking at it from an overly simple stance. Shit, I'm wrong plenty. I just saw it as teams viewed his (and Prime's) ego was bigger than his talent, so they didn't want to fuck with him. Just seemed more likely than a big conspiracy, that included black coaches and GM's, to hold back a black player and hurt their franchise "Just cuz they don't like the way another nigga talk".

Even if that source is lying why weren't the other 31 teams interested? If the Saints need a QB, liked Shedeur, and had a good visit with him I don't think they'd pass because an anonymous source said they didn't like him.

I may just not be getting where y'all are coming from. Why do you think he wasn't picked higher?
