And I was Fears' biggest supporter in the draft thread.

I just don't think his playing well is gonna make that big of a difference for the Pelicans.

Maybe not but can't count on Jose to stay healthy

Murphy is no longer a second unit guy so he's not catching people off guard

Maybe Herb bounces back this year and is ready to expand his game offensively.

Shit.. Maybe Poole or Bey but I'm also trying to think of rotations and impact

So are you feeling pretty good about Fears?

I like him a lot, but I don't know if its all gonna come together in year 1.

It probably won't

Pelicans love small ass guards and if you're gonna be that small, you have to be elite at one thing and I didn't get that from any of the film I saw

I hope he ends up being a nice piece but I already know he's going to go through a lot of shit

I was spoiled by cp3 rookie year

First off, he's not that small. He's not Dillingham. He plays above the rim at just a shade under 6'4" (without shoes).

And he's already an elite ballhandler.

Where I had concerns after summer league was him running an offense. He has vision, but he somehow went an entire game without a single assist.

There’s a slim chance only if he can get one more chance and everything breaks right and shows better poise and maturity can it happen

He’s atleast gifted enough but it’s really the mental aspect

I'm not saying he can't be a good to great ball handler but I wouldn't rush to call him elite at that just yet.

Now what I did like was his ability to draw contact a la Trae Young when he first came into the league but eventually even that stopped happening and forced Trae to adapt. I like he looks like he can put pressure on the defense but it also looked like he was overwhelmed by the speed of the NBA. Again, small sample so I'm not saying his career is over before it's started but I'ma just reserve judgement for a good amount of time as a pelicans fan
