To be fair though to some of these GMs for teams like the Bulls and how the Wizards were until last year.....its hard to put it all on them sometimes because if the owner has a mandate to chase the playin and be the 8th seed....then you have to operate in that way


Now the flip side of that is part of being a good GM is convincing the owner to follow your vision for the team and not let them make ill advised decisions
