The league is very rigid these days. If you don’t establish yourself as a guy a team thinks they can compete for a championship with, then you’re relegated to being a role player. You then have to figure out your niche as a player. And focus on being the best at that niche as possible. The days of the bucket getter wings are over.

Teams just don't want to pay for one trick ponies anymore

You have to be able to something else....score and defend, score and be a playmaker, score and be a great 3 pt shooter ect

Inefficient, volume shooting guards probably the most worthless position in the league

I also know Coby is one of the few tradable SGs because you wouldn’t want Jalen green and Celtics wouldn’t do that trade for Simons

Still, the pick I would not give up

Also you would be locked into a IQ, White, Ingram, Barnes core and while it’s not bad I don’t think it’s enough to do anything

The way id look at it we have the season to see if the lineup can work and is worth buying into long term. Its obviously a very high risk high reward move but I wouldn't expect the pick to land in the lottery so I dont care too much about it.

The hardest part comes if it doesn't work but thats a great 5 imo and we still have a good bench with young improving players behind them.

I get it doesn't scream championship roster but I don't mind being treadmill as long as its with intention on building towards becoming a contender and picking up important things along the way like we did our previous run at the chip.

Unless they think they can compete for a championship with you (Brunson). Otherwise youre right.

Knecht surprised me being so bad the 2nd half of the season but he still had good shooting numbers in his relatively minimal mins

But where he surprised me again was being 24 in summer league and being ass as a 2nd year player

He still has a chance though

I’m not out on him

He just needs to get off the lakers to salvage things
