The NCAA and CFB unintentionally fixed their main major issues.
Cause now, Highschoolers, unless they are flat out 5 star athletes. Are going to get passed over by major schools for the transfer portal.
This is going to make them go Juco or small college to get playing time. The elevation in talent at those levels will show folks who the better coaches are.
That creates a better coach pipeline. To fill in the spaces that will be open after coaches wash out, in the majors from having more diversity, separate great coach’s from decent ones. Not just head coaches but coaches of all positions.
Once kids earn it in Juco, the NIL and or portal can pay those kids money but not too much cause they still have to show out at a major college so even tho a kid is now paid, he’s at least earned it on a college level.
So not only did the portal bring diversity across college, it stabilized the use of the NIL abroad, put in a situation where non five stars have a pipeline to major colleges through earned chances. And it open the door for kids to get paid in general.
Until some school gets tired of losing and fucks this up by excersing some crazy loophole. CFB unintentionally fixed its biggest problems.
And the playoff will work it self out as teams equalize, leading to major games at the end of the year, to make it to the playoffs
