But on a serious note, @Simple_Jack , Detroit may have one with that Jenkins dude. He was nice last night

There are many losses on the pelicans record that should help management with roster moves but the fact they had no answer for Jalen Duran should be evident they need a big who can bang and rebound. He was killing Missi

I need Daniss to be gone because he trying to erase my man Marcus sasser’s existence and I don’t like det but yes he’s been having a great breakout season relatively

Also I’ll ask you but as far as Duren, wasn’t that the reason why you guys signed looney?

This is why we have to ask why everyone celebrates hero ball so much. Jokic does everything on offense and people constantly call him the best in the league without even acknowledging the possibility that it might not actually be the best thing to do for the team to win or that others might be able to put up big numbers too if they didn't prioritize winning and team ball. That whole playstyle where the team revolves around one player on offense has never really worked for the good of the team.

I’m confused why you brought up Jokic when the Nuggets just won a championship not too long ago

Not even close to being the the same thing

🤦🏾‍♂️

One, when he's supposedly been the best in the league by far for like the past 5 years. He's basically the posterboy for the "It's not his fault, he just doesn't have enough help" warcry these day yet when he was gone his team didn't fall apart.

I don't think so

Isn't Looney regarded more for his on ball screening and help side defense?

At either rate, I should've added they need a nigga that can do what I mentioned previously and not have cement shoes for feet

What's not close to being the same thing?
I know it can be annoying, but can I ask you a question before answering your question?

Why do you think some players have more responsibility with the basketball on the offensive side? Or what are the pros to a heliocentric offense? Even though the Nuggets offense isn’t as heliocentric as one might think.

Jokic is efficient lol. He's not out there chucking shots. Tf? Shit take.

This issue isn't about his efficiency. It's about getting the best out of your team. You might have players that can contribute in a variety of ways, but if they are relegated to just being support for one guy, you can't maximize the team's capabilities.

There are many reasons. Some teams legit don't have the right personnel, so the stars on those teams have to do more. Some teams lack good coaching, and so their strategy takes the easy way out and puts all the burden on the best guys. Some superstars are selfish and prioritize their own stats and glory over what's best for the team.

I don't know what if any of those reasons apply to Denver. I just know that the common narrative is the Jokic has to do everything because nobody else can do anything without him. We know that's not true though. So don't think that it's at least possible that maybe a better strategy is to organize the team so that you get as much out of your role players as possible and then let your star do what they do rather than the heliocentric style. That's basically what the Triangle Offense was all about and look how successful it was. I'm not beating up on Jokic. I like him. I just think he could probably be utilized in a better way.

isn’t your original point essentially the Nuggets would be a better team overall or they would win more if the offense didn’t revolve around Jokic as much as it does like it’s going for Lamelo and the hornets this year?

Now as far as your 2nd point

Nuggets went 22-10 before his injury
Then went 10-6 without him

They only beat one good team in that stretch and have losses to the hawks (before they were good) and the nets

So I mean for a team that should be a top 3 seed at worst when healthy that can count as falling apart without Jokic

But again I feel like this whole thing flies out the window because the Nuggets just won recently

Also comparing the 9th seed hornets to the Nuggets is insane

Looney grabbed 6 rebounds a game last season only playing 15 mins

Shoutout to borrego giving him a DNP ⏸️ last night and started Deandre Jordan though

No, sorry if I didn't do a good job of presenting my thought. My original point was supposed to be that big numbers for the team's superstar aren't always the best thing for the team. A lot of the times when the superstar dials back, that's when the team starts to thrive.

Also, I don't think a winning record is falling apart. It doesn't matter that they only beat one good team. The common narrative is that the team is helpless without Jokic. They aren't. So if you can find a way to get that level of production out of those guys and then add Jokic to it rather than exchanging that level of production for what Jokic would give you, wouldn't that be better?

Like who? What players on the nuggets are being kept from contributing in a variety of ways that is costing them wins?
