I dunno, a case can be made that Mayo and Pierce had their fair share of fuck ups this season to warrant them to be fired… but they were done no favors when it comes to these rosters. The Raiders arguably had the worst QB situation in the NFL.

A head coach has a say in which qb he likes....frank reich wanted wentz in indy but ballard didn't want him but he let reich get his guy and it back fired on his ass

There’s nothing saying that Pierce had an influence in Minshew getting signed. He along with the front office agreed that Minshew would begin the year as the starter, however it’s not solely on Pierce that they had the QB room that they had.

All this to say that the Raiders are a trash franchise from the top down cuz they didn’t even try.

Pierce started as an interim coach last season tho. They had the shot to improve on the QB situation and instead cuz the Raiders owner is so damn strapped for cash they couldn’t invest in the position. So they decided to tread water. Dude bout to pay 40 plus million on fired/new head coaches. I’m willing to bet Pierce thought he would be around long enough for them to draft a QB next year and he figured this was gonna be a year of angling for draft position. Like I said earlier, trash organization.
