I update based on how the season progresses. There are usually few deviations from my original predictions.

I do 4

Pre-Season
First qtr(thru wk4)
Half way point (thru week 8)
3/4 (thru wk 12)

Once playoffs start only do AFC/NFC CG and SB predictions based on the brackets
