Locally we used to call the major radio station at the time and plead for the original version of Bling Bling to be played. They ultimately did but bleeped out like a mofo. All to support Turk dumb ass.
For New Orleans rap in the 90s, drugs was heavily pushed along with the sexual stuff. None of the shit I hear now doesn't bother me cause I heard it all already.
A lot of known, local rappers was into it. Shit BG was a teenager rapping about using heroin. PNC had a whole song talking bout "give me some heroin, baby".
Turk was just never in the studio enough to record the material for an album. He has no one to blame but himself.
And me still a fan I supported his albums after Cash Money. You think he talk about them shits? Nope.
Turk album dropped when BG and Juve was leaving, that's why it has a different sound.
Shit all of their albums had a different sound before they left.
BG even said that he was on that shit and Baby wouldn't pay him. He'd try to give him a car or some jewelry in paying him.
BG was like I don't care if I get high or not, that's my money I worked for.
That's why they were all so bitter after they left. For monies owed and drugs.
