Actually let me rephrase, do you think the Celtics should trade Jaylen brown?
I don't think they should at least right now. They're already down Tatum they legitimately need him. They'll try to trade around him but the CBA is indeed putting squads in the torture rack.

They need JB for what? To be paid $50 mil on a team that still needs to shed salary next year which will make them even weaker?

Tatum not playing next year at all

Porzingis, Horford and Jrue will be gone by the time He plays again

What is JB being kept for? To play with Derrick white?

It’s over

oh idk because each trade is different

Just because those two were traded for 5 picks doesn’t mean better players would get more picks because the picks are in lieu of players

There’s a world where JB gets traded for 2 picks but the player(s) he’s being traded for a better than the players in the previous trade
Suppose the heat want him. What is a realistic trade for him knowing the market?

I think they need to if they are smart, but it doesn't necessarily mean they will.

There is a world where they keep him and tatum and trade everyone else.

But even though they won a championship, these two aren't the greatest fit. They play good together but their skill sets aren't really complimentary. It took building an amazing team around them to win a chip.

I would trade him and pretty much everyone else. Tatum will miss next year, and then it'll take him a whole season, maybe season and a half, to fully recover. I'm not paying a crazy ass tax for that. I'm trading everyone and if Tatum wants to go when he comes back, he can go too.

Uhhh I don’t think the heat would have what the Celtics would want but…

Idk something like that idk

But this doesn’t make much sense for the Heat

I don't see their FO nuking the team lol they'll try to retool around them. Though it is Boston tradition to trade an injured player so snaking Tatum is always a possibility.

I don't think this gets it done imo.

Idk what gets it done.

The more I think about it, the more I think they keep it cause idk if there are even teams that really want brown like that.
Bear in mind the Heat are like the worst team to trade for brown as far as assets

I'm not doing that if I'm the Celtics either. I'm gonna need the expirings for sure, but another 2 picks.

That's why I don't think the Celtics can trade him.
Holland and Ivey and more than 2 picks is crazy to me

I’m doing you a favor by giving you Tobias Harris’ expiring and you have two young players and one is coming off his rookie season and that’s as close to a pick as you can get

Those players plus 3 picks for a guy who can’t dribble well coming off knee debridement get GMs fired

He’s moveable though

Boston should do their best to get off Kristaps and Jrue's contracts (without giving up too many draft assets) and stay the course. they will still (barring more injuries) have a good shot of being a low seeded playoff team next season. They have their 2 main guys locked up and they are still not too old, if Tatum can come back from the injury without missing too much of a step, they will still be in the mix as a contender.

Brad Stevens has to draft solid and keep his eyes peeled on the undrafted free agent market as well as trying to find value in some of these younger vets who are stuck on the end of teams benches who maybe just needs a change of scenery.

On another note, what if Jalen Brown misses a decent amount of games this upcoming season and they miss the playoffs, and then get a lotto pick in the next draft? that would be crazy. lol

I don’t know if we have the assets to get it done but KP would be a great pick up for us.
